Unannounced Korean Government inspections – labour law compliance
The Korean Ministry of Employment and Labour is currently conducting on-site inspections of 4,000 companies to ensure compliance with labour laws and regulations.
These inspections occur annually and will continue until the end of November.
The Ministry will target companies with a greater risk of non-compliance, such as those with a higher proportion of part-time and fixed term staff.
The inspections will focus particularly on compliance with rules on minimum wages and employment agreements.
A total of 500 of these on-site inspections will be unannounced.
Repeat violations will give rise to immediate fines.
